At Stumble Property we recognise that the UK is in the middle of a housing crisis which has been compounded by the pandemic over the last couple of years, the UK government estimates over 260,000 homes are categorised as 'Long Term Empty' in England, with almost a 20% rise in 2021 alone. 2022 marks the fourth consecutive year in which figures have risen, which mean the national total of empty homes has increased by over a third (34%) since 2016.

Statistics published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) put the number of empty homes in England in October 2019 at 648,114. This represents a 2.2% increase on the previous year’s total. Of the 648,114, 225,845 were classed as long-term empty properties (empty for longer than six months).
